A Poem

Photo by Melissa Askew on Unsplash

Summer’s glory, green and bright

Has faded from my garden.

Spilling into the soil

But not wasted.

Tree roots drink the colors in

Sending them skyward.

Filling the sky’s great blue canvas

With a mosaic of leaves
